AT USE Video Filters applies professional colour and tone corrections to any video in your browser — no video editor, no desktop software, and no account required. Upload an MP4, MOV, AVI, or WebM file up to 100 MB, pick one of eight filter presets, click Apply Filter, and download the processed MP4. Everything runs on our server using FFmpeg — the same open-source video engine used in VLC, HandBrake, and hundreds of professional video platforms.

The eight filter presets

Brightness Boost and Brightness Reduce lift or lower the overall luminance of every frame. Use Brightness Boost to recover underexposed footage from indoor shooting or evening light; use Brightness Reduce to calm overexposed clips from bright outdoor scenes. Contrast Boost increases the separation between the lightest and darkest areas of the frame — useful for flat, hazy footage that looks washed out. Contrast Reduce softens the tonal range, which can help harsh lighting look more cinematic.

Grayscale removes all colour information, converting the video to monochrome. The tonal relationships between light and dark areas are preserved exactly — grayscale does not flatten the image, it reinterprets it in luminance only. Sepia adds the warm brown-orange tone associated with analogue photography and historical footage. Both Grayscale and Sepia are one-click transformations with no configuration required.

Saturation Boost intensifies all colours simultaneously — greens become greener, skies become bluer, and skin tones become warmer. It is the quickest way to add visual punch to flat-looking footage. Saturation Reduce desaturates partially, landing between full colour and grayscale — useful for a muted, editorial aesthetic without going fully monochrome.

Output format

The output is always an H.264 MP4 file, encoded at CRF 23 for a balance of quality and file size. Audio is preserved unchanged. The output filename is the original filename with the filter name appended — for example, clip_grayscale.mp4. Files are deleted from the server immediately after download.

Common use cases

Frequently asked questions

What video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, AVI, and WebM files up to 100 MB. Most videos from cameras, phones, and screen recorders are covered by one of these four formats.

Does applying a filter affect the audio track?

No. The audio track is copied to the output file unchanged. Video filters apply only to the visual component — the audio bitrate, codec, and content are identical to the source.

What is the file size limit?

The maximum upload size is 100 MB. For larger files, consider compressing the video first using our free Video Compressor, then applying the filter.

What is the difference between Brightness and Contrast?

Brightness shifts the overall luminance of every pixel up or down — it affects dark areas and bright areas equally. Contrast changes the range between dark and bright: a boost makes darks darker and lights lighter; a reduction brings them closer together. For most colour correction work, adjusting both together gives better results than either alone.

Is my video processed on a server or in my browser?

Your video is processed on our server using FFmpeg. It is deleted immediately after the download link is generated — we do not retain, analyze, or share your video files. No account is required.
