The AT USE Media Converter is a free, browser-based tool for converting audio and video between today's most common formats: MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV, AVI on the video side; MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC on the audio side. Built on modern browser-native codecs and progressive WebAssembly transcoding for older formats, it is designed for the practical conversions creators and ops people actually need — preparing a screen-recording for upload to a social platform, extracting an audio track from a video, downsizing a hi-bitrate file to email-friendly proportions, or normalising a podcast clip to a consistent loudness. Web-friendly presets handle the right defaults so you do not have to learn ffmpeg flags: "social square 1080p", "podcast mono MP3", "web hero MP4", and so on. For routine conversions the tool runs entirely in your browser, so your media files never leave your device — a meaningful privacy and speed advantage over upload-based services. Like every AT USE tool it is free, requires no account, adds no watermark to the output, and is part of a consistently designed platform that already serves image converters, an image optimizer, and network/DNS utilities. The Media Converter will join the lineup with the same focus on real workflows for creators, marketers, and product teams.

Yes. Core conversions and the web-friendly presets will be free with no login required.
On launch: MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV, AVI for video and MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC for audio. More formats will follow based on user demand.
For most conversions, files are processed locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Some advanced operations may run server-side; any uploaded file is deleted shortly after.
There will be a generous limit appropriate for typical creator workflows; we will publish the exact figure at launch.
