About Online Status Checker

When a website seems unreachable, the first question is always "is it down for everyone, or just me?" An online status checker answers that by performing an HTTP request from a neutral server and reporting back the response code, response time, and reachability. Our free online status checker takes any URL or domain you enter and runs a live request from our server, showing you the HTTP status code (200 OK, 404 Not Found, 500 Internal Server Error, 503 Service Unavailable, etc.), the time the server took to respond, and the resulting online/offline classification. Recent checks are displayed alongside so you can see whether the site is intermittently failing or fully offline, and the list of "Top Sites" reflects what other users have actually been checking — giving useful real-world context. This tool is invaluable when triaging customer reports of outages, verifying whether your own site is reachable from outside your office network, monitoring a competitor or partner during incident response, or simply confirming that a third-party SaaS dependency is up before opening a support ticket. Free, no signup, works on any device.

Common use cases

  • Verify whether a website is down for everyone or just for you.
  • Triage customer reports of "the site is broken" with neutral evidence.
  • Monitor a third-party SaaS dependency during an incident.
  • Confirm a deployment is reachable from the public internet.
  • Spot-check uptime across a list of partner or competitor sites.

How to use this tool

Frequently asked questions

Where does the check originate from?

Our server in Israel performs the HTTP request. If you need geographic distribution, run multiple checks from external monitors as well.

Why does my site show as offline when it loads in my browser?

Some sites block unknown bots or non-browser user-agents at the firewall, returning 403. The site may still be up for human visitors.

What HTTP codes count as online?

We treat 2xx and 3xx codes as online. 4xx and 5xx codes are reported as offline since they usually indicate a problem.

Is the check history saved?

Yes — recent checks are stored anonymously and shown in the Recent Checks panel so you can see usage patterns over time.
