About Image Optimizer

Image Optimizer is AT USE's server-side image processing tool for creators, marketers, and product teams. Drop in a photo, pick a social-media crop preset or enter custom dimensions, choose your output format, and download. It handles full batches of up to 12 images at once, so you can resize a full set of assets in seconds rather than one at a time. Compression, format conversion (JPG, PNG, WebP), metadata stripping, and background color removal all run on a dedicated ImageMagick processor — no client-side hacks, no quality loss from browser canvas compression. Your files are processed on our server and deleted immediately; nothing is stored or logged.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more images onto the page — up to 12 files, 20 MB each — or click "Add images".
  2. Select a social-media crop preset, or enter a custom width and height.
  3. Choose your output format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) and set the quality slider.
  4. Optionally enable background color removal or auto-crop of transparent edges.
  5. Click "Optimize all" and download individual images or the full batch as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Is Image Optimizer free to use?

Yes — completely free. No account required, no watermarks on output, no usage cap beyond the 12-file batch and 20 MB per-file technical limit.

Do my images get sent to a server?

Yes. Image Optimizer uses server-side processing (ImageMagick) for resizing, compression, format conversion, and background removal. Your files are processed and deleted immediately — we do not store or log image content.

Which output formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP. Use JPG for photographs where file size matters most; PNG for graphics that need transparency; WebP for the best size-to-quality ratio on modern web pages.

How does background color removal work?

The color-key feature samples a target color (white by default) and removes pixels within an adjustable tolerance range. It works well on solid or near-solid backgrounds. Complex gradients, shadows, or soft edges are better handled by a dedicated removal tool.

What is the file size and batch limit?

Each image can be up to 20 MB. You can process up to 12 images per batch and download all results as a ZIP.

Why should I strip image metadata?

EXIF, IPTC, and XMP metadata can contain GPS coordinates, device serial numbers, and author details. Stripping it reduces file size and removes identifying information before you publish or share images.
